I don’t know about you, but I appreciate validation. When I’m deep in conversation, I’m motivated by hearing things like, “I get it” or “I understand” or “you got this” or even “well, that sucks.”
There’s something about having what you’re communicating being understood that helps us feel, well, understood. If you thought that sentence was a little clunky, so did I.
So, what I’m saying is: Clear communication helps your message be more understood.
Whether you’re communicating about your brand, why you launched your business, or how your business adds value, you need your message to be understood, relatable, and authentic so people connect with you—and want to work with you.
A content expert can shape your message, listen to what you’re saying, and confirm it by asking, “So, what you’re saying is.”
In the course of my career, I’ve interviewed more than 600 people. What have I learned through feedback and testimonials? The ability to refine and reframe someone’s thoughts is a valuable skill.
“You grasped the essence quickly.”
“You really captured and condensed everything.”
“You’re like a chameleon who steps into each industry and gets the tone right every time.”
“It’s amazing how you can take an hour of conversation and turn it into something that tells a concise story.”
As a content specialist, listening to people and creating a story in their tone is one of my favorite assignments. When I ask, “So, what you’re saying is…” and you answer, “Yes!” I know I’ve done my job well.
